First Event

Today we had our first outing and event with people! So far we've just made it around the block and to local parks but today we had a mini-teeny-sprinkle for a dear friend who is having her second but a boy this time. It's hard not to celebrate the impending arrival of a new baby regardless of how many you already have.
So we (in total 3 pregnant women, one with an almost 3 year old) another mom of two, myself with newborn and one lovely gal sans baby, headed to the bluffs for a picnic lunch and presents. It was quite the sight!
JJ was a complete angel and just slept the whole time. I wasn't too concerned about him sleeping too much for this stretch (because I'm trying to cut down sleeping hours in the day time) and was just happy he was content. It was so enjoyable and not scary at all. It helps to have a first event with close friends whom you trust and understand what it's like currently to be in my situation. I suggest anyone who has a new baby and is going to venture out to an event, start with people you trust and are close to whom you feel safe with.
